OK so Im an out of state bride (which I have probably mentioned a thousand times ) and I am starting to look into florists. So I have a list of about 6, but I dont want to go see them all. I only have so much time when I go how and would liek to narrow the list down to three....
What questions can I ask a florist over the phone...I narrowed most of my vendors down by price, but how do you ask a florist how much they cost without sitting down with them? I am not sure how to go about this. Any suggestions?
Here is the list: Expression Floral Design Flower Michele La Blossom James Cress Florist Simply Stem Jack and Rose
Thanks

Re: Narrowing Down a Florist
Here's a couple of questions that will help narrow down the list:
1) Are you available for this date
2) Are you available for this time
3) I have the following in mind, and I'm from out of state, and want to schedule all my appointments for one day, can you give me an estimate of the following (if you have any ideas)
ETA: I'd also do a search on each of those vendors on here and see what other brides have said about them.

Re: Narrowing Down a Florist
Have all of the facts written down and maybe send an email to them first and have them call you back to give you an idea of price range.
Facts such as: Number of centerpieces, high or low, big or large. Ceremony flowers needed exact number of your bridal party and groomsmen for boutiques and boutineers. Mothers, fathers, grandmothers, flowergirl Your type of boutique - cascade, round, all same flower, different flowers etc...
Extra's: love table, flowers on the cake, rose petals for aisle or tossing, card table centerpiece
If you already have an idea of the type of flowers you want include that and see if they can give you some basic starting quote.

Re: Narrowing Down a Florist
Id check the BBB's website and the brides review boards regarding those vendors.
ETA when I called florists for pricing I simply told them exactly what I needed and they gave me a price per item.
Also ask if they will deliever to your home and your FI's house, to your church, hall.
Is there a delivery fee?
And specify the # of flowers you want in each BoK and CP.

Re: Narrowing Down a Florist
I emailed a bunch of florists with pics of what I was looking for(or an idea of what flowers, tall/low, etc), the date of my wedding, and the number of bouquets, boutteneirres, corsages, centerpieces and any ceremony decor I needed. Some wouldn't quote me over email, but I was able to narrow down the ones that would quote me.

Re: Narrowing Down a Florist
you can see LA BLossom as she was one of the featured vendors on DW and I tv show
My vote also goes for LABlossom, she just such a lovely person to work with. If you need a questionnaire, I have a florist one on my website that you are more than welcome to use. If you have excel, its print ready and has questions that can be answered over the phone.
This is GREAT!!! thanks. I never thought of sending an email and that way I can be specific about what I want and send pictures...and besides I hate talking to vendors on the phone...Thanks for all your great suggestions I am drafting a letter now.
Also does anyone know what month roses are 'in season'?

Yeah, emailing pictures is a great idea. Call them & explain your situation & some may be more helpful than other with the out of state thing, so that is one way to narrow it down. I have heard great things about Flower Micehlle & La Blossom.

I am also an out of state bride and all my vendors have been GREAT in doing everything over the phone, email. I am using trina from Expression Floral Designs. She did my sister's wedding and the flowers were AWESOME.

One of your vendors was soooooo nasty to me and my husband! Huge caution to u! bottom half of your page! hit search and look these people up on here. Alot of bad reviews for this vendor! do your research on them.
