does anyone know how much it costs monthly if you have a home with oil??
FH mom pays $3.50 a gallon. Im not sure if you know how it works but it varies. They dont fill it up every month. Also what we pay is even different then what his mom pays. She has a cheaper rate, it could be depending on the area. The diff companies also try to lock you into a rate, if you do automatic refill and you dont call but they come when they think you need a top-off on your tank you'll be charged an arm and a leg. Our landlord made us get this type of contract last year bc his previous tenants let the tank run dry.... Needless to say the company would come when the rate was highest to top it off and get the most money out of us. (We weren't locked into a rate bc they were too high, but didn't know that they come top off even if you dont need it, so they can make more money.) That bill for two months was INSANE, crazy high. We now also have electric heaters plugged in bc its ridiculous. I'd find out first what type of rate you can get at that time before committing to anything. Also try to call 3 diff places for quotes. FH says it could be about $300 a month in the winter months. Im from Queens originally and never had to deal with oil... Im not a fan!
