I posted this afternoon for venues in Manhattan that are intimate and able to accomodate 60 people for a wedding. Does anyone know of a GOOD place on LI that has the same accomodations???

The George Washington Manor in Roslyn has smaller rooms. It's a very pretty historic mansion-type venue. I believe the Coral House in Baldwin has small rooms that will accomodate. The Maine Maid Inn I heard is beautiful as well. HTH!!

And I forgot, The Milleridge Inn has different rooms to accomodate smaller parties!

Larkfield Manor has a second smaller room that could be used for 60. My wedding was 80 people and it was really nice. The staff is wonderful and the food is indescribably good.

I'm having my wedding at Leonard's of Great Neck and my minimum is 50 guests for the Empire room. I only expect to have about 50-60 people

Hi,I saw a bunch of people recommended the thatched cottage, I just wanted to give you a heads up on that. The thatched cottage gave me a 140 minimum for a Sunday Evening. They do have a smaller room, but they don't usually use it for weddings. They told me that there always is one wedding at a time, and if they were to book the other room, it would be a small party, and they would not be allowed to use the grounds at all. HTH

I went to tatched cottage on may of this year and they offer me the small room (I am having 50 - 60) and gave me a quote for the wedding on site (outside) and cocktail too. (I was quoted for the las sunday of may 2008)

How about a nice restaurant like Collins and Main or 21 Main in Sayville or The Gatsby in Islip? The Riverview in Oakdale and the Irish Coffe Pub in East Islip are also great choices, although I do know they require a 75 person minimum for weddings.

thank you, my sister actually got married there 10 years ago! i couldn't pick the same place! So we are going to look at the Metropolitan this Tuesday and one other place in the City. If the Met looks good I am going to cancel the city and just book it! I can't take this planning process anymore, I don't think I am made for it!

How was your sister's wedding? I hear you about the planning process! I've just decided to read this board, and not plan anything! We booked the hall and rabbi, and that's it for now. I'll be armed with info from here when I meet wtih other vendors!

The Irish Coffee Pub in Islip has a room upstairs that would hold about 100 people. It's very pretty there and the food is wonderful!

Re: Nassau/Suffolk Intimate Wedding Venues
I'd second the recommendation for Swan Club. One of the rooms can fit 100+ but the way it is arranged, it can feel very intimate (half of the room is elevated for seating and the dance floor is lower).
I'd also say that if you see a place and are nervous about a high minimum, try to negotiate. Many places are more flexible than you would think, particularly if you get married at a less popular time/date.

Definitely try Smithtown Landing. We just had our small wedding there and it was really intimate.
Congrats!
