Naturally curly hair styles / stylist / salon?

Hello - I am still trying to figure out where to have my hair done. I have long naturally thick curly hair and think i want someone to work with my hair and only curling iron all of the pieces needed to make it smooth and the nicer curls for those strands that dont form good.
Does anyone have any recommendations for stylists? Or what salons to try by the south shore of long island?

I have done trials with Maria Leon who was fantastic and Devashan. I just wanted to see if there were any other ideas though out there with perhaps more inexpensive options...

Thank you!!!

I also have crazy curls and am getting nervous about this, nearly 2 years out. Devachan would be a good idea, but there's no way I'm going to the city the morning of my wedding.

My regular salon is Ouidad (57th & 5th Ave) but I only go about 2x's per year. They have taught me how to style my own hair without ever having frizz and I now have the nicest curls..their products are amazing.

For my wedding I used Nicole D'Angio. I went to her because she spends like 2 hours on a trial with you and I knew I needed more time than a salon would allow. She will come to you the day of.

On the day of my wedding. I styled my own curls naturally and then Nicole used a curling iron to soften them up a bit and we left my hair pulled back nice and lose with my natural curl. It was beautiful. I highly recommend her for you wedding day and I recommend Ouidad for a yearly haircut.

There is a girl trained at Devashon located in Cold Spring Harbor at a salon called colors. She is much cheaper than going into the city and I hear great things about her as well. I am a big fan of ouidad products.

Ouidad

Check out some pics in my profile of my hair..I think it was beautiful..especially for really thick curly hair. Check out my engagment pics I did my hair myself so you can see what my hair usually looks like..thanks to Ouidad

I'm definitely going to keep her on my radar. Your hair looked amazing and your curls looked beautiful. That's exactly how I want mine to look!

Hi curly girls! I found an amazing woman in West Babylon who is Devachan trained. The salon is Evolutions and Allison is awesome. She's doing mine day of. I've also used Erica who was great. Several other stylists are trained, too, but they're my fave.

Also, I have to say, the Curly Girl products are awesome so let me know if you need info/recommendations. FH bought me the diffuser for xmas and I looove it.

If you end up going, FM me as we both get a discount for a recommendation.

I was just reading on the curly girl method which is very similar to Ouidad's method.
Do they have a special diffuser? Where can I get it, I'm always looking for a good blow dryer and diffuser...any suggestions?

DevaCurl DevaFuser. You can find it on Amazon. I also saw it in Ulta, but it was more $$$. I love it. The dryer is super expensive, but the attachment works just fine as long as your dryer isn't too thick.
