Hi Ladies!!! First I want to say congratulations to you all!!! I'm getting married next July and i'm trying to go with a nautical theme...does anyone have any idea where I can find favors/invitations that are elegant and not cheesy? Please help before I rethink my theme. I saw a woman that got married in 2005 and she had great stuff but I don't know where she found any of it. Please help! Thanks
Thanks so much for all your help. The ideas are great. Just want to add a little more of a boat theme too. But the shells are great!

Re: Nautical Theme
Thanks so much for those links... now i really want the light house candles see photo below... where can i get them??? it seems they are from 2004 does anyone know where to get those?
The only lighthouse candles I can find look like real lighthouses...like black and white striped.
I saw a BEAUTIFUL cake in a wedding magazine at some point with sort of fondant ropes wrapped around it. The whole wedding was nautical themed. They used compasses for the escort cards. I'll see if I can find the issue at home tonight.

Re: Nautical Theme
I think for the invitations if you dont want to go overboard (pun not intended) and have an anchor or boat on it, you should just do a really deep/navy blue invite with white print. I saw a sample of this and loved it, but didnt go with it because I thought it was a little too nautical looking, and were not having that as our theme.
Weddingchannel.com and the knot have a lot items you can purchase through them which will you give you good ideas, even if you decide not to get it through them.

Re: Nautical Theme
Glad to see a thread on nautical themes! I am bumping this for other brides.
Below is a wave pattern we tried to model our cake after. A wave pattern could be used on invites, programs, etc and would be good for either a nautical or beach theme, I think.
2nd photo - Cufflinks I found on E-bay
3rd photo - Danfords has a real nautical feel to it but is still classy, IMO
I don't agree that invites have to be plain for a nautical wedding. We used a compass and I think ours came out very elegant! You just have to do a lot of shopping around to find invites that aren't too casual looking. A very simple sailboat or sail design, or a simple lighthouse at the top of an invite, these can all be good choices!
