i dont love this color combination when talking about a navy dress and black shoes but my mom is on an extremely tight budget and is considering wearing a nice pair of black heals that she has. i dont think its the worst thing in the world especially since its a long dress but im not sure...what do you guys think? i think she also wants to use a black evening bag she has.
i feel badly telling her she has to buy navy because that would mean extra money and prob not using it again. she could dye the shoes black afterwards but then again, shes still spending the money on the shoes and she never ever goes out so having her original black pair would be fine for her
eta: this isnt so much about me caring specifically what she wears, for my sake but its more for her sake, i dont want her to be embarassed or anyting. she never ever gets dressed up or goes out so i want her to look good

I think it is FINE! no one is going to be looking at your Mom's shoes. THey will be looking at YOU!
Besides like you said it's a long dress.

I love black and navy together! I think it's a very sophisticated look. My BM dresses will be mostly navy with some black detail.
Also, silver goes really well with navy. does she have silver shoes?

I think it's absolutely fine - especially if it's a long dress - no one will notice the shoes! I think the clutch will be fine too because realistically, she's hardly ever going to actually be holding it, it will just be on the table. But if you're concerned about the clutch you can get some pretty inexpensive ones at express - I have a silver one from express that has lasted me years.

I wouldn't worry. If she doesn't have silver shoes that she can wear, let her go black. Since the dress is long, you'll barely see them anyway.

i personally hate navy and black together and wouldnt normally encourage it but if the dress is long im sure it will be fine.

I think its OK. No one is going to notice, and in pictures the shoes will be hidden because her dress is long.
