navy blue bridesmaid dresses

So I haven't picked the colors for my wedding yet. There are so many options I'm thinking about, but one includes navy blue dresses with bright colored flowers. My question is would it still be ok for the groomsmen to be in black? what color should they wear?

TIA

Thanks! Oh i do have another quick question. How do you quote someone else inside your post? Does it come up correctly if you just cut and paste?

press the quote button on the bottom and it does the html code for you.

we are doing blue with bright colored flowers. the color of the BM fabric looks different in diff lighting but it ranges between a medium blue, slate blue, dark blue, etc. i have pix in my album and my avatar is the fabric. lighter than navy though.

I love the dress you picked and thats a great idea to have the groomsmen in striped ties with the blue you are using.

i fell like anything goes with black. there are so many brides that choose different colors and their GM are in black tux.
I never heard anyone say that it didn't go.

thanks! we didn't know what to do for GMs because the blue is so hard to match, but we walked into the tux shop and they had that tie on display and it was beyond perfect -- it kind of has the same shimmer to it. we brought a swatch of BM dress fabric and it was a great match. there isnt a matching vest in that color, but it might have been overkill or too prommy so we are doing plain black vests with the blue ties.

I was in a bridal party where we had navy blue dresses, they actually look very pretty next to the black tuxes.

If you're afraid of everything being too dark maybe you can try a lighter shade??

just a suggestion..... this is a watters&watters BM dress

(sorry its so tiny)

My bridesmaids are going to be in Navy blue (you can see the dress I picked out here :

The tuxes are definitely going to be in black. Contrary to popular belief black and blue do go well together. Plus I want it to be traditional.

We picked out some styles online and some ideas for vests and ties and things. Even though our colors are not blue and silver (they're blue and purple), we decided we wanted the guys to wear silver and FH will wear all black (everyone is going to have white shirts) because the colors options for the vest we liked weren't that great, and silver matches with everything.
