I heard about this on Z100... I don't get what the big deal was. Why should they have gone through with the marriage when they knew it was not gonna work? It's stupid to marry someone just so you won't hurt their feelings by dumping them. She got a six figure settlement!! I am SURE she isn't crying.

yah ur right but the night before give me a break. he could have did that the week or month before. And 6 figures could be anywhere from 100,000 to 900,000 no one knows how much. Might not have been that much...

I agree he is a jerk, but I also think it's better the wedding didn't go on.
He didn't tell the guests that the reception was off, so apparently he gave his friends his Black American Express card because he felt bad... and they racked up a TWO MILLION DOLLAR TAB!!! Don't know if this is true, but I guess he got what he deserves.

easy ladies.
he was on howard stern today.
he claims a lot of that story is false. who knows
sounded like they had a rocky relationship. he did give her a sh*t load of money after they called of the engagement.
better to call it off than have a divorce
well than he is foolish to not be able to realize he was in a rocky relationship until 1 day before the wedding...
i dont get the whole giving them the Blk Amex ???? im lost
He didn't even tell his groomsmen that it was cancelled until 2 hrs before and they had already gone to the hotel and got dressed so he gave them the black amex card for the night to make up for the inconvenience I gues..

some highlights from the howard stern show
RICHARD JEFFERSON TELLS HIS SIDE San Antonio Spurs forward Richard Jefferson called in to deny reports that he dumped his fiancée just 2 hours before their wedding: 'It did not happen 2 hours before...it just makes a much better headline to say, 'Hey, he called her 2 hours before.' All my family and friends knew by Wednesday.' Richard said his ex was beautiful, and the split was mutual: 'I can't say enough positive things about her...we both made mistakes in the relationship.' Richard confessed that early on in the pair's relationship, they weren't exclusive, just 'really good friends...We'd broken up and got back together so many times, I just didn't want to make this decision.' Richard confirmed reports that he'd given a his ex a little money so she could move on (he wouldn't give the exact number): 'I'm trying to do the right thing.'

Two sides to every story. Only the two of them know what really went down. Sounds like they had had their share of big issues and they're both better off not being legally bound to each other.

Re: NBA Player dumps fiance night before wedding
What a waste of good money! I know it's nothing to someone like him who has alot. Also, I heard on the radio that this would have been his 2nd marriage. I'm just glad that he was half a man and didn't marry her and they divorce later.
