The cost of bridal bouquet preservation!!!!!!!!!!!
The cheapest I saw was $375, but I saw some costing over $700!!!!!!! What justifies these high prices? Anyone know? Mary MOB

A gal on BHB, posted about it, and since I thought it a neat idea, I googled and looked at several companies that do it. The prices were shocking, and disappointing!!! But perhaps there's a good reason??? Mary MOB

Just what I was thinking, Jennifer!!! But, maybe I'll check around here, in Lancaster Co. Might be cheaper. Mary MOB

Mary, try a crafts/fabric store. I think there's some sort of spray you can get to preserve plants. (I saw it on an episode of project runway, when they had to use plants to design a dress).

i think the main reason is because they basically undo your entire bq and dry it sep. then hand colorize them so they stay the actual color and then reassemble it. Its actually a lot of work involved but yes i agree PRICEY - but i am trying my hardest to save up $400.00 so i can get it done but fh may not let me!

If I remember that episode of Project Runway correctly, I think it works on leaves...don't know about flower petals, especially flower petals that are more delicate.

But it's worth looking into...Mary, if you look into this, can you please let us know?

Re: Nearly fell off my chair finding out!!! Update with interesting site!!!!!

I just went searching, and if you go on www.ehow.com, and 'search' Preserving Wedding Bouquets, they have some great ideas!!
I think I found why some processes of preservation are pricey!!! Two methods involve taking the petals apart, and putting them back together again!!!! While I haven't explored in depth, www.ehow.com has a lot of cool stuff on it, not just flower preservation!!!!! Mary MOB

I just hung my bouquet upside down in our basement for about a month after the wedding. Now its in a pretty vase in our bedroom. The whole project was FREE! I like that price a lot better.
