Need a chuppah fairly urgently

Hi there, long-time lurker, first-time poster. I know this is Brides Helping Brides, I'm a Groom so I hope that's OK.

Here's the situation - Many months ago when we booked our hall, we were under the impression that the chuppah that was there was available for our use, and we had planned on having our florist decorate it. This week we found out that we misunderstood the banquet manager during our discussions, and the chuppah belongs to their house florist and can only be used by someone who is having it decorated by them. So I called the florist and asked if I could pay to just use it and have our florist decorate it and they refused.

So now it's less than a month to the wedding and we have no chuppah.

Does anyone know a place that we could rent a chuppah from at a reasonable price? Thanks!!

I would try Laurie from La Blossom, she is a vendor on here, and she could help. Or contact Laura from LA productions.. she may know, she's a wedding coordintor.. GOOD LUCK

Have you spoken to your florist to see if they have one? Do you have any special heirlooms in your family like an antique table cloth or tallis (sp?) you can also make one out of that.

Not that I need a chuppah, but that's the impression our banquet manager gave us as well. That's kind of messed up

Hey everyone thanks so much for all the great responses and FM, especially so quickly. It turns out that our florist does have access to a chuppah if necessary for an extra fee, he's also going to check with the house florist to see if he can work out a deal. Thanks again though for all the great advice!
