I am very upset right now.... My own church just told me they will not marry us because our wedding is on a Thursday! I don't understand, what's the big deal? I have talked to a few other churches that had no problem with it, but I didn't like the size/decor, etc. I love the look of my church and always saw myself getting married there -- and now they tell me no. What do I do? Now I have to try and find a church that has the all of the qualities of my church that I always wanted. Can anyone recommend a church that is not small (doesn't have to be huge!) and has a long aisle in eastern suffolk county??
Thanks Ladies

Re: need a church...
It isn't in Easten Suffolk County, but St. Patrick's in Bay Shore would probably accomodate you.

I've seen that church (online) and it looks amazing. Do you think it would be to much out of the way for my guests? The reception is on the north shore -- miller place.

It's on Montauk Highway and easily accessible from Sunrise Highway...but it is probably about a 40 minute ride.

Re: need a church...
That's ok i know the feeling. My childhood church that i had all my sacraments told me not to go there because i don't live in the area so i'll never go to church. As for churches for you........St Francis in patchogue (it's kinda small), there's a couple bigger one's too that might work in that area as well. North Shore.....try infant jesus in pt jeff. Or There's one on Wading River rd near the LIE that's pretty decent sized, that my accomodate you. Good Luck!

I am sorry that happened to you! I hate to say this because I am a practicing catholic, (this in no way is to offend other catholics, I am just trying to be honest) but if you really want to get married at your church ask them how much it would cost for them to accomodate you on a Thursday. There is always a $$$ amount they will take to accomodate you, unless there is some religious reason for why they are saying no.
