Hi, I am new to this website but I need help!! My wedding is in May 2009 and I am having a really hard time finding a church. The reception is at Jericho Terrace in Mineola, so I want a church that is close to there. I want to have my Pastor from my home church officiate (my home church is too small and too far away to have the ceremony there) so it can't be a Catholic Church because they don't let you do that. If anyone knows any nice churches in that area that would let me have my Pastor officiate please let me know!!!

Re: Need a church!!
are you sure that it's all catholic churches that won't let a visiting priest do the service. we were married at Maria Regina in Seaford and the Pastor Fr. Peter seems flexible. You might want to call them and check. 516-798-2415.

Re: Need a church!!
i had a lot of problems with finding a church in that area that would let me do this....so i actually ended up having our ceremony in suffolk & then the reception out there..it actually worked out since a majority of our guests were in the suffolk area..they were able to go home in between the time gap..

Re: Need a church!!
Is your Pastor from a Catholic church? If so, then he just needs a letter from his bishop to the Pastor of whatever catholic church here that states he is a priest in good standing and is able to perform a wedding ceremony. (I'm having a visiting priest do my wedding).
If the pastor isn't Catholic, then you're right, you can't have him do the ceremony at a Catholic church.
That being said, did you try Corpus Cristi church in Mineola? There's also a Lutheran church close by there (I think)

Re: Need a church!!
No, my pastor is Christian non-denominational, but I will check out that church thank you! I have contacted a few Lutheran churches in the area and they either say no or haven't gotten back to me so I'm really hoping one will pull through!
