Need a DJ

Hello to all. Here's the situation: I am looking for a DJ. I went to see In the Mix the other day and if you have the money I would recommend going to see them. We however don't have the money. My MOH is using Sounds Unlimited for her Feb. wedding. I met them and thought he was obnoxuis and unprofessional. So I'm looking for recommendations. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

We used QT productions. Mike Shields was so great. Before, during and after. He still calls and sends us newsletters. Very professional. Everyone loved him. And he was inexpensive compared to most of the DJ's out there. He's one of the DJ's listed under vendors.
I am personally a big fan of programs. I went to a couple of weddings that didnt have one. One was a traditional catholic ceremony and I knew what to expect so no problems there. The other was an outdoor ceremony that wasn't traditional. It would have been nice to have some sort of program because it was hard to hear the speakers and no one knew when to sit or stand. we would up standing for hte entire ceremony. Especially in your case since you are having a catholic/jewish ceremony, it might be nice to print out a one page explaination of what will be happening. If you run out of time though, as long as the person who is officiating the wedding clues people in on what they should be doing and what is going on then I think it will be fine not to have one.

We booked Parameters. Eddie had a great sense of what songs on our list will work and what might not. His demo audio tape is outstanding and his past experiences speak volumes. He's given us some great ideas and has us very excited for our big day!

Milleridge is not valet and is very elegant. If budget is an issue, you can have both the wedding and the reception in the restaurant. The restaurant is NOT covered by the banquet office and is sometimes less expensive. Another benefit....the Milleridge has a bar area with a fireplace at the rest with a nice ice cream/soda shop as well as many other quaint stores in the village. We had time between ceremony and reception. Our guests entertained themselves on the grounds - basically starting to celebrate right away! It was great not having to worry about them.

And would you say that In the Mix and Parameters are in the same price range as Spin Around Sound? THX.

Michelle-

You actually didnt miss what I said, just that I was Elizabeth from this site..So you knew who the heck I was wishing you luck in the receiving line.:o) I figured you were overwhelmed but wanted to say Hi anyway. You looked gorgeous!! Im so glad the rest of it went great. My fiance thought it was odd that I was stopping but your church was so close and I didnt think you would agree with him after all the chatting we do here. Your ceremony was so nice. I actually decided I might like the bubbles for our wedding too since you cant throw rice or anything else. Good luck to you and your new hubby. Im glad to hear the sleeveless was a good choice. I keep wondering if I will be cold in March but I guess the excitement and nervous energy warms you up. Please post a pic when you get them back.

In our search for a dj, we looked at both Parameters and Spin Around Sound. We received a cheaper quote from Eddie at Parameters than we got from Tom with Spin Around Sound.

Keep in mind, Eddie custom tailors packages to the couple's needs where Spin Around Sound has pre-set packages. Basically I would say they are in the same range.

If your looking for cheap but great, try QT Productions. They were only $600. I was kind of scaried to try someone so cheap, but it was so worth it.

I'm not a vendor or a friend of this DJ, I just had such a great experience with him that I want to refer business to him. He was my best vendor of our entire wedding.
