need a good moisturizer for face

need a good moisturizer for face

not a facial wash but a lotion or something. I have this dry spot from my mouth around down over my chin. I am breaking out bad, but you can tell I am dry in that spot. My dermotalogist gave dupac cream which is a drying thing for the pimples but it made me worse then it was suppose to. It dried the pimples but now I have a total dry patch with pimples.

Have you tried Oil of Olay moisturizer? In the summer I use the oil-free one becuase it's lighter, but in the winter I use the original.

I'm having the same exact problem--dont know where the hell they came from but I have three pimples on the side of my chin that I've been trying to clear out for a while and now its flaky area and its disgusting! I try to put vitamin E cream --but beleive it or not, its not helping and Im starting to get VERY self concious.

Ooh, sorry! My sister hates it too, she says it makes her face feel like a catcher's mitt. What about Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer?

I have the same problem too....VERY dry around the chin and mouth area with some breakouts. I have been using the Aveeno clear complexion lotion but there is syllic (sp?) acid in it that is not helping the dryness.

So, I am also interested in any ideas.

Exfoliating might help with the dry skin areas. I use Aveda exfoliant and Aveda lotion and I'm happy with both.

I use Neutrogena Health Skin Lotion, it's worked wonders for me. I have the same issues, right around my mouth and on my chin due to Retin-A but this keeps it in check. I accidentally picked up the sensitive skin one so my skin got very dry for a while but I switched back to the regular a few days ago and I can already see the difference.

WARNING: It will tingle (maybe sting) a little when you first put it on but that just means it's working.

Its a bit expensive, but I love Origins. When I feel indulgent, I buy this moisturizer:

I use the DDC moisturizer, it is sold in Sephora or other major department stores.

I found their products amazing, a small bottle will cost you from 30- 40 dollars, but it is well worth it!

ok- t, i posted this & got logged out, so I will try& summarrize-- I cut back on the cleansers & treatments whn I had this problem.

At night you can even ues Vaseline on that spot. I used Rosebud Salve, ( Usually I use it as alip balm) which is Vaseline consistency. It didn't make the breakouts worse.
I actually used my body lotion 9 St. Ives, I think) on just the dry spot, too.

I use Nutrition for the Skin and I LOVE it. But it's REALLY expensive, like a hundred bucks per bottle and I use a few different kinds. MY sister and I usually split the bottles because they're pretty big.

My girlfriend turned me onto it. They have GREAT moisturizer and this great stuff called Nourish that feels like it's burning your skin, but really it leaves you with this amazing glow. And it will get rid of any kind of blemishes or anything practically over night. My friend put it on a birthmark for a week or so and it went away!

I use Mary Kay, and I love it...the moisterizer, the eye cream and jar cream...and I alternate between this pricey face wash ($46 for a mini bottle that I get at a spa in NYC) and the mary kay scrub....

If you read the book by Marilu Henner, she said that breakouts on the chin area equates to hormonal imbalance.

Which Nourish product helps? There are a few? Also, how do you order w/ them? Online or at a store?

I've been using the good skin line from Kohls (who knew!). It's been great, I still get a breakout every now and then, but over all my skin is much improved.

I don't know, I think it is just a 'sign' that your hormones are in a change cycle (pms, etc.)...balancing hormones, well, diet? less caffine, chocolate, fried foods, pizza? I heard that pizza is a big food that contributes to stress, which could cause hormones to flucuate... Marilu's book was quite interesting, a few things that stand out I can't really mention her...but get your hands on it and breeze through it----i kept finding myself going ''oohhhh, yeah''.......

of course i lent it to someone and it has never been back.....

You probably need to exfoliate first, follow up with a mositure intense masque and then use a moisture intense lotion. I use the Artistry brand for all my facial stuff. Works great!
