Need a good wedding gift that is not $$$--Please help--A bit long

OK short background

One of my BM just got engaged. We are not super close but we were roommates in college and since our other 2 roommates were also in the wedding party. I felt it was only right to add her...plus I had 8 girls so what is 1 more...only 9 :) She is a great person and we get along but alot of the time she lacks manors and common-sense!!!

Anyway she had to travel to NY and get a dress so she never gave us a gift or card or a congrats for that matter ( I understand it is expensive to take part in a wedding so I am not upset about the lack of a gift)

Anyhow..she just got engaged to her Australian FI...she will be permenatly moving to Australia and will be having a small ceremony there but they are having a engagement party in the states before she leaves (labor day weekend)

What the heck do I get this girl ..I was thinking a gift that might be more portable for her since it will need to be sent over and I would rather not give her cash

Any suggestions???

I think a very pretty crystal picture frame might work for this situation. Mikasa has some nice ones

How about a quilt from things remembered with their names, wedding date, and a saying

Do you know of nice stores over there - perhaps you can order a gift certificate on line for one of them?

I think a nice picture frame or a quilt would make a nice inexpensive gift.

Money travels very well. maybe travellers checks. TJ MAxx has lenox picture frames and albums

maybe some crystal gift from Tiffanys... not as expensive as one might think... did they register for anything???

I would not get a her a gift, I would give her $100 with a card wishing her bon voyage. Alot less hassle then tryiong to find a 'portable gift' and I am sure they would appreciate it alot more.
