Need a Mattress - Fast!!

Well, the bedroom furniture that was supposed to be in weeks ago, that we kept hearing .. '2 weeks' .. we were told was checked into the warehouse today .. and is finally ready for delivery .. in my excitement just to get it into the house .. I made an appointment for delivery .. without thinking we don't have a mattress for it yet .. so now we need one quick!! But, of course, would like a good one.

Please post your suggestions on where to shop for quick delivery!!

I went to sleepys, and it would have been quick delivery but i opted to save myself the money and pick it up...

we got ours at Rockaway bedding-Sleepys was more expensive & we didn't like the salesman. I think Rockaway delivered it the next day! We LOVE our mattress!

Can I ask which Make & Model you got?? Sounds like I'm asking about a car, right??

I'm thinking we want Stearns & Foster .. but there are so many different kinds of S&F that I'm not sure which to get .. and I saw a couple today .. but I'm just not sure how they'll actually feel when it comes time to laying on them overnight.

also try 1800 mattress stores...

Also remember what they carry at rockaway they may not carry at sleepys and vise versa..

We already knew which mattress we wanted so we called both 1800mattres and sleepys and pit them against each other pricewise.

Sleepys won and it was here in 24 hours

I've had bad experiences with both Rockaway Bedding and Sleepy's, but I haven't heard of anyone having problems with 1-800-Mattress. You could also checkout Macy's and their clearance center for mattresses. Despite all the problems I've had recently, I am totally in love with my mattress (except for when I woke up in the middle of the night to pee and forgot how far from the ground my feet really were and wound up flinging myself into the closet door)!

Okay .. just in shopping around .. I've had negative experiences with 2 Sleepy's salesmen .. and the Rockaway Bedding was on the positive side.

I know of your bad Sleepy's experience .. but what happened with Rockaway???

Unfortunately, the mattress we want is not carried by 1-800-Mattress .. and it's looking like if this is the set we want .. it's going to be at least 1 week! (Some places are saying at least 2-3 weeks).

So now I have my pretty new bedroom set and no mattresses to go with it!

I didn't think it would be this hard finding a mattress .. or maybe when they say 'same day delivery' they mean only if you settle on something they can have for you .. but no one has even mentioned 'same day' as being an option .. so I wonder .. is there really such a thing????

About four years ago I purchased a bed (the crap bed that I just replaced) from Rockaway. I moved into a new apartment on the 2nd or 3rd floor of a walk-up in Brooklyn that didn't have a doorbell. My phone was not connected yet, so I let them know that when they came, they would have to honk so that I could come down. They gave me a delivery window of 8 am to 12 pm, so I basically sat in my window for a good four hours waiting for them to arrive. Needless to say, they didn't show up until 6 PM! So I pretty much sat in my window all day waiting for them to show up and when they did, they were completely unapologetic. I eventually got about $100 off the price of the bed (which was only about $400 to begin with), but I was extremely unhappy about having to wait all day at my window.
