Hello fellow Brides, I am getting married April 15th 2011 and my fiance and I still do not know where our ceremony is going to be held! We do not want a religious ceremony and were hoping to get married at the C.W.Post Chapel but they are kind of giving us the run around. Do you ladies know of any other Interfaith, or non-denominational chapels on long island?? PLEASE help me!!!!

Re: Need a Non-Denominational Ceremony Site!!!!!
the only one i know of would be the cw post chapel. how are they giving you the run around? they were always so accommodating and efficient with stuff in the past. have you only dealt with them over the phone?

Re: Need a Non-Denominational Ceremony Site!!!!!
I shouldn't have said it that way, its not that they are giving us the run around per say, but they don't book things very far in advance. My fiance and I have literally been calling them for a year! we got engaged last summer and called them first, because my fiance does not want a religious ceremony, so we have limited options. I am a Post Alum so it was fine with me to have it there. But because our wedding is during the academic school year they have to clear it with the campus Pastor and Rabbi first as they have first dibs on the space. So I am really just looking for a second option because it is getting closer and closer to the wedding date and I am freaking out a bit!

I can, I just really didn't want to do that. We are getting married at Bridgeview Yacht Club and even the woman at the hall was like ' you will hate your wedding' if I have it there. Its just too rushed for me, and I want to be at my cocktail hour. I REALLY don't want to see my fiance before the wedding either.

Re: Need a Non-Denominational Ceremony Site!!!!!
also i am getting married at my reception hall outside (weather permitting ) It won't feel rushed because I will have everything at one place and none of my guests (who are mostly out of towners) will have to travel too much. you can get married like anywhere to be honest....maybe look around for cool places that will do a wedding indoors??

I know you're probably looking for something nicer, but I pass this place on the way to school every day. Not sure if it is nondenomenational or whatnot, but might be worth giving them a call. It is in Woodbury. http://www.thehistoricalchapel.com/
