I need a photographer/videographer in the 5,000 - 6,000 range who is both a traditional and photojournalist photographer. I need this to also include 2 parents albums and thank you's. I am going crazy looking for one. I already have appointments with
North Island Leli Sherwood Artisan
Will any of these be in the price range? Help!!

I looked at artisan and leli from your list and you CAN get packages in that range, i wound up going with duet, but leli was my 2nd choice good luck!

I am using sherwood. I have the price list at home which i will try to check tonight, but I am getting one parent album and it is about 3k and I am getting the lowest priced videography and it is around $1200. They are good because they work with you to 'customize' your package. I went to Patken and I was mad because they gave you a package and if you didn't want certain things, they wouldn't change things around at all. I am v. happy with my choice with Sherwood. My only complaint thusfar is that my wedding starts at 11:30 and the videographer contract says you have him for 9 hours. The contract lists the videographer start time at 10:30. I will be reaady at 9 for pictures and I want the videographer to be there before I am dressed to video tape the preparation! Plus, if I am paying for 9 hours shouldn't I get 9 hours? They are refusing to come earlier than 10:30.

Definately check out Chuck Marcy Photography.com . Chuck is wonderful to work with and is in that price range and might even be cheaper than that.

Velvet Studio is in your price range and Bob will work with you to make a package that includes what you want.
I am using North Island. They are in that range. Mike's work is AMAZING! Do a search on here. There are other girls who have used him for their weddings who have their proofs. You can read their reviews. Good luck!

It depends on what type of album you want and how many images. My photographers (Grey Studios in Floral Park) vary in price based on # of pics in your album and in the parent album but you have to pay for anything other than an 8x10 slip in album. Their work is amazing IMHO tho!
I checked out Sherwood and while they have beautiful work your album is only going to have 8x10 pics only (non digital album anyway) and their costs after the fact are high. Plus, they don't include any effects. They charge you for every little thing there and I thought it got riduculous. I know 2 brides who used them and they have great pics tho. (one was in an award winning shot of theirs)
Patken wasn't too bad price wise and they seemed to allow some variation in packages from what I saw but they weren't my style. I know a bride who used them and their quality is good from what I saw and hear.
My second choice was Duet and their quality seems to be very good. Many brides on here used them and loved them. They can probably give you 2 photographers for that price and extra album pages are charged by the page- not by the image like most studios.
Also check out Dan Wagner- I didn't meet with him but I like what I have seen of his work and I hear that his prices are good.
Sorry to ramble, I am picky with pictures and my album so I made lots of notes! Be sure to check out the BBB online- you'd be surprised as to the complaints- one is OK but I saw a lot for one of my halls rec vendors!

Check out Imagine Studios. Their have varying packages that can be combined so that you could be right in there. Well maybe more like 6K but their work is gorgeous.
Imagine Studios does both by that may be a bit above ur budget. I would still look at them. I thought they were amazing and decided they were worth the splurge

Try Madison Ave. Photo in the Huntington Townhouse. They also do video.
