need a place to getaway!

my FSIL in coming in from california next week and i wanted to take her somewhere nice for a day or two. i'm thinking somewhere 'gilmore girl'ish if you will lol.. maybe in CT or MASS.. any ideas ladies?

pretty much i wanna go somewhere cute lol

um - i've never seen gilmore girls - but what abou the bus tour of the sex & the city locations? I THINK they still do that now...

I went with my mom and sister to the dolce heritage hotel the year before last for mom's day. it's in ct ... in southbury, ct. it was a really cute town, not too much to do but the hotel was very nice and there was a very nice restaurant for lunch / dinner ... soo good .. I wish i could remember the name of it!

Yes, Portmouth is AWESOME. But far ...

What about Greenport / Orient Point? Or Jamesport? On the east end?

Maybe go to Newport? Ive never seen Gilmore Girls so i dunno if you are looking for a city thing or a low key small town thing. But Newport is about 3 hours away and has cute shops and the mansions are fun to visit. There is also Mystic Ct, Ive never been, but hear it is cute.

if you are going all the way to portsmouth, you may as well drive another 20 minutes and go to ogunquit or kennebunkport. great restaurants and shops there!! But plan on a 5 hour drive.
