Need a recommendation...

Hubby and I are going into NYC tomorrow night for a concert at MSG, and we might try to grab dinner beforehand.

Can anyone recommend a place near Penn/MSG to have a nice bite to eat - casual, but nice?

if you can go to Times Square...go to Carmine's....VERY good Italian food/family style.

Im sure there must be some exceptions but the ones immediately around MSG tend to be insanely overpriced and just lousy IMO.

I have some suggestions for you if you uptown or downtown a bit.

I used to work in the area and one of our favorite places was on 27th by FIT called Gus' Figs.

You could try Mustang Harry's or Mustang Sally's. Bot are on 7th Avenue between (2-3 blocks south of the garden.) Both are good, pretty reasonable and cater to the MSG crowd. Harry's menu is a little fancier then sallys menu.
