my FH has a million cousins in the 15-20 range. if we've never met the girlfriend/boyfriend or they're really young, we're not inviting them with a guest.
how the heck do i word this?
mr. & mrs. bob smith (these are the parents) mr. kevin smith and ms. angela smith (these are the kids) address address
does that do enough to get rid of the prospect of the teenagers bringing a guest?!
what if there are more than 2 kids???
omg having a nervous breakdown - silly stds..........

Re: need addressing help
I ended up covering myself by just saying

Thsi way they feel it is for the family proper, and no one else!

Re: need addressing help
im just concerned that 'family' is overinclusive - dont want people to think that their 15 year old girlfriend = family ya know??

Re: need addressing help
Anyone who was over 16 I gave their own invite to (you can do anyone over 18 to use less invites) anyone not over 16 I put on the inner envelope
Mr. and Mrs. Smith Address Address on the outer
and on the Inner I wrote :
Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Bobby and Susan

Re: need addressing help
I'm in the same situation as you! Because of this I decided to do inner envelopes. I am addressing the outside with ' the so and so family' and then on the inner envelope writig each member of the family only.

Re: need addressing help
ughhh so frustrating
i'm only in the save the date stage and wasn't even thinking of doing inner/outer envelopes because im getting them from 'her' and it's more expensive to get double envelopes.

Re: need addressing help
I would make it out to 'The Smith Family' and then save the +1 or gf/bf for the actual invite

Re: need addressing help
My 'family' address was for STDs. We will not be sending out our invites until April! But we did pay the extra money for inner envelopes wo that we can write the names of all those invited on there.
