fi & I are going to Stewart Manor CC on Thursday to meet with James. This is the first hall we are going to, any questions we should ask? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
TIA Sarah

Re: need advice
def ask to taste the food.....also after the presentation, ask if he is willing to accomodate your specifics...like if yu want a particulatr type of champagne...what time accomodations he will make, etc.
Good Luck!

LMAO... his presentation... He will most likely bring you around the room, the CH room & the gazebo... he will then take you into his office & show you some pics of past weddings, to show you what your could look like.
The reason why I said to ask what he is willing to personalize, is b/c a lot of Catering Halls are not willing to do anything 'extra' or different....it's a good way to feel him out to see if he will welcome your personal touches later on.

Re: need advice
James is a dear friend of mine and I am getting married there as well.. He is amazing and its true they do accomadate you more than your average run of the mill BIG hall. They really customize your needs the best they can.

Re: need advice
James is really great.... I think some things to ask are about say, CP's there..they provide them, and I will be honest when I say I hates the ones they had, I think they were carnations,,,ask if you decide to bring your own cp's...will they give you any money off?
I can tell you they are VERY flexible with the menu, so you will be able to work with them there.
Things I forgot to ask my Banquet manager when I booked were things like Cost of children and vendors....do they count towards the minimum. ( its 100 at SMCC) Do they ahve any type of open flame candle policy if you are thinking about having candles around... If time wise you run over or want to, what is the cost?
Thats all I can think of...Good luck! I liked SMCC a lot, I loved the room, the price was good, but we eventually didnt go with them!

Re: need advice
how many waiters per table...
bartenders?
What kind of alcohol? (this was a biggy for FH) and if they tell u premium...find out what? bc every hall has a diff. idea of that
If ur not getting married there...find out if u can show up there immediately after the wedding...
I'm thinking what else...i know i had a long list...

Re: need advice
I agree with all the advice the other girls have given you. I also visited Stewart Manor CC and met with James, who was great. I found it a little too winter-y for my June/July wedding, but I think for a November wedding like yours, it's perfect. It has a very ski lodge feel to it, complete with a fireplace, wooden beams, and a fantastic wood bar (FH likes the built in bars). I believe they also provide different color linens and even some flowers for each table.
