Need advice

Need advice

My best friend is having a destination wedding, and only close friends and family are going. And as far as a shower goes, it has been brought up that it will be after she gets married. Her mom doesn't want people to think that they are invited to a shower and not anything else. They are going to have a party over the summer. So my question is would you be upset if your shower was after the fact or do you think it should be before?

I think she should have it before the wedding and give people a choice wheather or not they want to attend the wedding or not. you can not invite people to a shower that they did not go to the wedding for and also she would expect her shower before the wedding not after.

Why don't you ask her? Not all showers have to be a suprise. Let her make the decision. Call it a 'party' not a shower. Something like a Bon-Voyage but with a pre-wedding theme so people think it is more a good luck party. Include registry cards but make them yourselves to cordinate with the theme of the 'party'. If she doesn't get gifts, she may get $ that she can then use to buy the gifts or her own registry. I don't know only a thought....

I agree with this. I think it's a very good idea. It's definately better to have a shower before the wedding.
