Re: need advice...
If you meant that you want your MOH to be a part of throwing you a shower and NOT your bachelorette party, I'm not sure how that would work. Through my experience, families throw showers and friends do the bachelorette parties. I don't think it's fair to ask a MOH (IF she's not an immediate family member) to dish out that expense.....that should've been something she was told from the beginning.

Re: need advice...
Usually the BM and MOH plan the BP not the moms or aunts

since my wedding is pretty much the first wedding in my family since ....well damn near since my mom got married..
i need some help imparting wedding etiquette on my family.. my bridesmaids who are my closest girlfriends are going to do my bachelorette party.. so we figured itd be easier and would'nt over load folks financially if my aunt/moh and cousin/another bridesmaid did my bridal shower.... but how do i tell them this without seeming over the top bridezilla-ish???? i was thinking of sending an email to my moh... lol. delicately telling her bout my friends plans to do the bachelorette party..
I think you should talk to your moh and let her know that you don't want it to become a fiancial burden on her, and explain to her what you want to do.

well you're not supposed to email ppl about your bachelorette party...your friends who are throwing you the bachelorette party informs everybody...all they have to do is let everyone know what the plans are and thats it. You have no involvement with Bachelorette party so you dont have to explain anything.
Are you inviting aunts and other family members to bachelorette?

the rest of your bridal party needs to talk to your Moh about this. This is how the bachelorette party is planned, the bridal party figures it out.

Re: need advice...
I just went to a bachelorette party. It was the BP and a few other friends and the mother. We went to a really nice dinner that had a bar and dance floor. Afterwards the girls and guys got together and went to a nearby club. This way we had girl time but it was more of a jack and jill type of thing... anyway to get back on track... everyone paid for themselves and chipped in for the bride 2 be.
As for her shower I believe the BP and the mothers planned it and split the expenses. If you don't want it to be a financial burden how about suggesting a potluck at someone's house?

I agree! They all need to chip in together and plan! So you can have a fabulous time and not stress!

you want your MOH and cousin to contribute more financially to the Bridal Shower and the other BMs to contribute more financially to the bach party?
touchy subject. Maybe just buy a book on bridesmaid etiquette and give it to your MOH in a nice way; i.e. 'I know we haven't done a lot of weddings in this family so I thought this would help you.'

That's funny! I told my brother to hire a trany stripper for FHs party lol...
The suggestion I made in my pp was a good blend of being low key and partying and it was a lot of fun!
