So it just accured to me that our reception hall and the hotel is at least an hour away from JFK or LaGuardia (Islip is more than twice the ticket price) and so now I am REALLY concerned about making it conveinant for my guests to get from the airport to the hotel. Most of my guests coming in from MI have never been to NY or LI and would have no clue where they are going and I don't want people thinking about what a pain in the *** it is to get to my wedding. I would hire someone to drive people but they are probably going to be all coming at different times.
Any suggestions???

Theres a van that does transfers from the airports and to LI... saw a commercial for it the other day... you could inquire with them on what to do.. lemme see if i can remember the name

There are a lot of shared ride shuttle services that folks could do - like super shuttle obviously - the drawback is it takes longer but the convenience is nice. . not sure what your other options are. . you could also set up two van shuttles and just cluster times. . like there will be one van leaving at 1:00 PM and another at 6:00 and folks could just wait and hang out. . this is tricky w/ flight delays and all. . otherwise I think only options are indiv cabs which is crazy expensive - or taking the bus into the city and doing LIRR which can be a bit of a nightmare. . last suggestion - do you have any friends of the family who have RESPONSIBLE teenage drivers who might want to earn some extra cash. .could be a 'cheap' taxi. .
