Need advice

Need advice

Most of you are in the same boat so you'll be able to help. This year we have wedding and moving into a house. Ok, a little bit of stress but all good things so no complaints.

Well, my job seems to have hit a new all time low today and I'm tired of the bull****. There is a position open in Customer Service that I think I am totally qualified for. However, its a lot more work which is fine b/c I'm bored out of my mind. Its a bit more money too which hey, who can't use more money

I may not get the job but I happen to know most of the people in that department and they like me. I have a good reputation at my company so I think that I would get it.

My question is do I go for it with all the other changes in my life or should I wait till my personal life is settled so I can concentrate on learning a new job?????

Thanks girls - I'm just overwhelmed right now and need opinions.

Re: Need advice

Perosnally, I would probably wait.

The closer you get to the wedding the more things you will need to get done and the more distracted you will be so the boring job would enable you to get those things done. I am sure the house would only add even more stress and pressure to the mix.

Good luck with your decision!!

Hey girl,

You KNOW I am in the same boat.

Very similar situation came up to me. My VP approached me with a promotion. I turned it down I am very happy with my choice and KNOW I wouldn't have been able to give it my all.........yet. If you can handle it, go for it. I couldn't.

Heck, i can barely handle the work load now. I am a slave at that job!!!!!!!!! but I hate my job (but grateful I have one). If you like what you do, consider it

Lori, go for it.

Who couldn't use more money now?

Also, you know the people & know you are qualified so go for it & good luck!

If not, I'll take the job

Ahhhhhhhh - I'm so torn!!!!!!!!!!!! There are so many great things about the job and I have to say I have an awesome BP who is willing to help me in any way. I don't know..........

FH is no help - he has his own business so he can't grasp the concept of my job.

I don't know if I can handle it - I think I can but the what if's are what is holding me back.

I think you should do it, but only if you think you can give it your all. You don't want to change positions and then be distracted and not do well in the new one. Yes, you do have a lot on your plate, but with good planning it can be done. You just have to make up your mind that you will concentrate on work when you are at work.

I know it can be done, because I did it. I started a new job with a new company 2 months before my wedding. I also had just moved into DH's house so there were lots of changes. Since I was in a supervisory position there was no way that I could slack off or let wedding planning get in the way. I actually think that it may have helped those last months to be less stressful because I had to make sure that everything got done in the least amount of time. I didn't have time to let anything go.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I say, if you're changing one thing, go ahead and change em all. Might as well get all the changing out of the way! Good luck!

Go for it! Worse case you can just leave as opposed to saying 'I should have' Just my opinion!
