need advice about min moon...

so Fh and I don't have a lot of money to take HM after wedding nor does FH have the off work time.

I wanted to go away for like a day or two...nothing expensive but something as a new couple.

I was thinking even in LI like where the wineries are..

Any suggestions? It would be during week!

The wineries would be great - you can even hit up Montauk and visit the lighthouse - or go stroll around the Hamptons and go to the beach.

Stop in Riverhead and walk around the town there - if i remember they have this boat that goes through the river of Riverhead and you can eat dinner on it.

I am doing this with FH next month!!

There are SO many wineries and affordable places to stay out near Riverhead.

This is a great mini moon

I agree with the wineries. Maybe stay at a nice bed and breakfast?

the wineries would be really nice! I've never been so I don't have any recco's

if you do montauk, we stayed in the montauk manor when we got engaged and it was really nice!

My sister couldn't take a HM right away bc she is a teacher, so as their gift we got them a mini moon at a B&B in Mystic, CT that included dinner and wine tasting at the local vineyards up there. They loved it!

ETA: The place is called Inn at Lower Farm if you're interested in taking a look at it. The people there were VERY nice to deal with.

if you want to get out of NY, I hear Rhode Island is a nice little getaway and depending on the area they have lots of things to do there - and they have a few wineries.

The drive to Boston was not bad and they have tons of free things going on there to save extra money.

We took the train everywhere which saved us cab fare.

The poconos is nice too

Lake Wallenpampack [not sure if i spelled it right] Milford even Hershey Spa is nice

We went to Newport and splurged @ the Castle Hill Inn Resort. We stayed in a beach cottage. We had beautiful weather so we spent time on our private beach, and visited the mansions and vineyards. It is gorgeous!
