Need advice: co-worker's son's wedding

I've been invited to the wedding of the son of one of my co-workers and I am unsure about a couple of things...Should I go?
-I've never met his son (he lives out of state)
-I've only known my co-worker for four months (I'm the new girl in an office of nine people)
-I only got the invitation last week for a wedding 5 weeks away - am I on the 'b' list? Eew. (Although I should be since I don't know him at all...) No one at work has talked about being invited or even going. Hmm...

Questions:
1. How much money do I give? It's on a Sunday at Woodbury Jewish Center (black tie optional)
2. Does anyone who knows anything about the faith know if I have to cover my hair or wear a hat to the ceremony, or if my fiance has to wear a yarmulke? (Sorry that I am not educated about this.)
3. Should I decline? Maybe he just invited me so I would be included as part of the office, but they've all been working together for 10+ years and know each other well. It was a nice gesture...

Yea, I think you were on the B list, but that's not a bad thing. It's up to you if you want to go! Can you afford to, do you have something to wear, is there something else going on that day? Would you be comfortable going also!?

I don't think you have to do or wear anything special and if they want FH to wear a yamakule(sp), they should provide them if you are not Jewish.

They should provide yarmulke (skull caps) for your DF. As for covering your head only a married woman wears those lace doily type things (and not all of them do). So even if they are provided, you do not need to take one.
As for the invite, I think that is a very nice gesture on the part of your co-worker and if I were you I would go with DF.

You are not necessarily B-listed. I sent out all of my invites one month before the wedding.

Oh. Apparently, I still don't know the timeline for wedding details (even after reading posts on here!) Thanks, am!

I think I'll most likely go, so I can avoid feeling left out on Monday morning and so I can 'make nice' with everyone in the office (I already lost points for refusing to go into the lottery pool!) It was a nice gesture, my co-worker is such a nice man, and it is a chance to have a special 'dress-up night' with my fiance (he loves to see me in dresses!) complete with good food and drink!

-Now, how much do I give?
Does everyone agree with the $150-$200 range previously suggested? I don't want to seem cheap, but this is someone I never met.

I would give $200.
I looked there for my wedding and I know that the least expensive wedding was $120 per person (Sunday am) and went up to $185 per person (Sunday twilight) without tax. I try to give what I estimate my plate cost if I don't know people well but have to go.

Yea, for you and your FH, I would say between 150-200
