Need Advice for tonight 8/8!!!

Hi ladies,

I am going to a Christening tonight at Sandcastle caterers. There is a cocktail hour that starts at 6, there will be a DJ, favors and everything (my cousin is going over the top for her new little baby girl).

And now my questions.......

About how much $$ is appropriate as a gift for this type of party? Usually I would give about $75 for a Christening, but then again, most Christenings arent catered, are they? I think the only Christenings I have gone to have been in someone's house.

AND--What the heck should I wear???

Please help! I need your advice ASAP!

I think it IS pretty fancy, and I was wondering, would a sundress be to casual? Should I go with a black coctail dress that hits mid calf?
