Need advice from Teachers or those in education please

I am currently a corporate software instructor, but I would like to move to k-12 education.

I have a BA in computer science and ALL my credits towards a masters in educational computing (but I didn't do my final thesis to complete the masters yet).

What I would really like to do is teach high school computer classes, programming, web design, etc.

What certifications would I need? I don't believe NY state makes a computer science certification for teachers. Do you think I should go for Math cert.?

Does anyone know what credits I have might apply or who I can talk to in order to find out?

I remember looking in to a degree in Instructional Technology at NYIT a few years ago. That sounds like what you are looking for, teaching computers. Sorry, but I don't know what would transfer. You may have to go to the school and ask them because each school is different as to what they will accept. You should meet with an admissions counselor in the education department at what ever college you attend or plan to attend. Sorry if this doesn't answer your question or help much!! I tried!! There is a woman that teaches in our school web design and she is a business teacher as her certification. There is another teacher that I have worked with that teaches PC apps and she is a Math teacher. From what they both told me 2 weeks ago that Business and or Math Certification would cover what you are looking to do. Hope that helps.
