first of all: you are not crazy!!!!
this is what i would suggest. take a long hard look at the contract you signed. is there a way out of the contract; ie, can you cancel up to a year before without giving up your deposit. if you cancel is there a penalty? will it be the entire deposit??
once you've figured out how much that is, do the math. if the deposit is non-refundable, but the new people are less money... in the end, you'll be out $600. is that amount of money worth having the photog of your dreams???
sounds to me like it's worth the lost $$ because you were 'blown away'
there are A LOT of women here who have lost money in exchange for 'THE PERFECT VENDOR'

Overall the thing that matters is your happines...if you don't think you'll be happy with the first photographer, then I would suggest changing...good luck!

Ta!!!!!!!!!! You are not crazy and I can see what you mean about things balancing out. I would consider one thing.. If you have certain shots that you want a photographer to take you can ask the vendor that you already booked and be specific about what you want. Remember that you booked them for a reason so they may be able to give you what you want if you are specific.
If you are really certain that you would be happier with the second vendor, then I agree with others on here that your happiness is the most important thing! Might you be able to work out getting most or 1/2 of your deposit back possibly????

i think it is a lot of money to lose you do have to look at the contract and read ALL of the fine print - see if there is a loophole
good luck

I would look for the loophole first, but if your heart really says to go with the new photographer, then go for it you don;t want to regret not getting him on your wedding day..hth

Do what you think is right, because I bought a dress and now I hate it and I am getting a new one and am willing to take the loss. It is your wedding and hopefully we do it once. So go for what you want. I have not held back. Good Luck.
