I want to buy a rug and some throw pillows for my living room. I'm horrible with interior design. I would really appreciate your advice. Would these even look nice?? If not can you give me any suggestions. Thanks!!

it will go, but why not put somenthing w/ more color so it dosen't look so plain IMHO

I dont like the pillow exactly matching the rugs... you should get a rug that has the color of the couch and another bright color. Check out Pier 1 and Crate and Barrel.. i always walk around there to get color and decorating ideas

Check out Pottery Barn for some ideas..A nice oriental rug with darker colors would look nice along with solid colored pillows. Tell us how it works out! I love decorating!

it depend what color you like here is some colors that I like:
I wasn't sure about using a darker brown. Would that work in my room? I thought for some reason it might clash with the silver accents....I like sage greens, blues and I'm thinking about something warmer like reds...Ughhh, what a tough decision.

I know I lean more toward modern/contemporary style (I think). I'm not a fan of traditional rugs...
I think it will be but maybe is b/c I am more conservative or traditional if you can say. Also, as you couches are alittle big I wouldn't recommend you to put too many pillows b/c it may look over stuff. I like red b/c with a couple of detail you may 'bright' or as my mom say 'bring to life:P' any room maybe a couple of red pillows in each couch and a candle in the coffee table will bring together the living room.

My couch is a similar color and I have some light wood in my living room. My pillows are chocolate brown and off white and I have a throw that's light brown, dark brown and blue. I really love blues with browns.

I'd say go with the first rug but really go all out with some crazy funky pillows! that way it's a nice touch but not overboard

My sectional is a little bit darker than yours. To put a little splash I bought chocolate and cranberry pillows.
