Need advice on eparty list...

Ok so FH and I were going through the wedding list to narrow it down to who we were going to invite to the e-party. I wanted it to be just immediate family, bridal party, and closest friends not in the BP. What I meant by closest family was Parents, Brothers, Sisters, Nieces, Nephews, and Grandparents.
I still have 3 Grandparents, he doesn't have any still around. He wants to add on Aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Problem is, if I add Aunts, Uncles, Cousins (and alot of my cousins have at least 2 kids each), that means that our eparty is up to 73 adults, and 18 kids. (91 people altogether). I wanted the whole list to be more like 50 or 60 people.

We cannot afford to spend more than $1500 on the whole thing. So we decided maybe to do a backyard party, but I'm afraid for this many people even catering in or going to the price club will come out more than that.

Should we:
A) Just let him add his aunts, uncles, and cousins and do without mine since his whole list would be 23 people even with them and since I have grandparents.

B) None of us invite Aunts, Uncles and Cousins,

C) Both of us invite Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins and hope that maybe there will be enough fall out.

D) Let him invite all his aunts, uncles, and cousins, and just narrow mine down to the closest ones.

I think it would be fine if you both just invite who you want. Just don't tell your side that his aunts and other family members are there. They wouldn't find out and it would probably make your FH happy. If anyone finds out, you could just say that he has a smaller family and thats who he is closest to. You don;t have to invite everyone to the e-party. Don't stress it. It will all work out. I think you should let FH invite who he wants though, It could create problems in his family if you dont and he also might regret it in the future.

I picked the one closest to my real answer:
E-Parties are for introducing the family on both sides. It would not be fair to you if you did not invite your family and his family already knows each other!
I would invite (and I did) just the aunts (my uncles are out of the country) and a handful of my closest friends. FH invited his closest family members and his closest friends/work buddies.

I wanted to throw a beach party but there was a hurricane scare so I had to have it in our back yard. The caterer was totally cool with the change of venue and we had an awesome time.

Good luck!

I think that's what we are going to end up doing. My mom suggested that too. That way its only 73-75 people and with a little fall out I think we will be ok.

Thanks for your help everyone!

wow, a hurricane scare? That stinks. I'm glad everyone still had a great time though. It all worked out in the end.
