Need advice on exchanging a gift

i need to exchange a gift, obviously i dont have a receipt, however, there is also no tag on the gift(the sticker was taken off of it)...

i do know what store it came from(tjmaxx) and all i want to do is exchange it for a different color...

how do i go about this?

I would just take it back, explain that you received it as a gift...they may not give you a problem at all.
