Need advice on how to stay calm for a presentation I have to give on Monday

Original post by MRSJLK

I have to give a small presentation Monday to about 30 people and I am so nervous. My part is only about 5 min long but I am wreck. I am terrible at giving them and there is no way out of it.

When it is close to my turn my heart will start to pound so loud, and my stomach just turns into a complete knot. Then when I speak, I turn beat red, my voice gets shaky and I am a mess. HOW DO I STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING???

Some people are so lucky who can just talk in front of a large group of people with no problem, I wish I was like that. AND in May I am gonna have to do an All Staff presentation in front of 90 people - which seriously, might make me want to quit my job

HELP anyone have any advice??

I DID IT!!! YAY!!!!

Although I did mentally torture myself before hand, I did it and I think it went ok. Everyone knew I was nervous (which I think made it a little worse because I felt like they were all waiting for me to make an a$$ out of myself) but I stay calm and said what I had to say.

Before I had to speak I looked at everyone and cursed them all out in my head to make me feel better (advice from a friend) and it kind of worked

Now, I just have worry about the All Staff presentation I have to give in the spring (i am hoping I will be away on my hm and I can get out of it )

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT

just remember that they don't really know what you are going to say, you do...so if you mess up, its ok...just keep going and it will cover itself.....

also, you know what you are saying better than anyone else, thats why you are giving the presentation...so be confident!!

you can do it! good luck!!
