Need Advice on microdermabrasion/glycolic peels

Please girls I need advice of girls who have gotten either one of these treatments before.

Does it hurt?
Would you recommend it?
What are some possible bad side effects?
Did you see a difference?

Any other information you can give I would greatly appreciate it.

I really do not have bad skin. I just keep breaking out in my chin area and the doctor suggested I do both of these like 3 times each. I just would like some more information before I do it.

TIA

Re: Need Advice on microdermabrasion/glycolic peels

I had microdermabrasion done from Neutrogena and cannot speak for the surgical procedure like my BIL had. The Neutrogena one was fine. My skin was baby soft, clearer, cleaner and healthier. My bil had microdermabrasion done at a dermotologist office several years ago....the healing process took months almost a year! His face was red! Almost frightening! He looked like the inside of a tomato! YUK....His face is very fair and very sensitive so I think he had a reaction to the procedure, but if you have an upcoming wedding and want to do the Neutrogena or the L'Oreal one, I think you'll be safe, you'll like it and it will leave your skin smooth. I wouldn't recommend you do any surgical procedure anytime soon.

I was going to do it and then decided against it. My sis had a VERY light peel done and she said her skin was dry and flaky for a couple of weeks and then really nice, but I didn't want to take a chance...plus they're

I did a chemical peel (glycolic acid) on my face from my dermatologist. I loved how my skin looked and for my day of, my skin just glowed. However, during the process it didn't hurt, just some stinging. Afterwards, my face was red like a sunburn but went down the next day... The next few days some pimples did come out, skin got dry. I just used my regular moisturizer a ton.
It cost me some $ in the end, but I think it was worth it.

Good luck!

I have tried both. I actually like the microderm better. The peel left my face feeling burnt, red and flaky for two -three days, afterwards it looked and felt great. The mircoderm had less flaking and redness. It does not hurt feels like sand paper being rubbed on your face. A really good exfoliation. It is also like a vacuum with the suction.

Either one you try, just tell them to use the mildest form, and you will be okay.

Good luck.

Microderm.....its alittle painful, but its worth it, especially if u have a bad skin....
Microderm take off the first layer of dead skin, then u need to moisturize it

I go to Amethyst rose (vendor on here) and get glycolic peels , its a lite peel it really helps even out my skin and get rid of discolorations. It also helps with acne but I do not have really bad breakouts just an occasional. Anita does mine and she is amazing!

glycolic peel will be a bit painful bc it is an acid burning off a layer of your skin. Microderm also might be a bit painful but that varies from person to person.

i see your wedding is 7.20 so i would NOT recommend going. Go to a dermatologist instead and maybe he can put you on some pills or a cream for the next month 1/2. Its just too soon to risk doing a peel. 99% chance you will be fine by the wedding day, but god forbid your skin doesnt take well to it. Dont risk it.
I'm a licensed esthetician [not currently practicing however] so I really would tell you on a professional basis to not risk it concidering you said you do have good skin. Dont ruin what you have!

Good luck and FM me if you have any more questions.

I had the same experience as her! I got a huge boil pimple from it but they said that is normal.. my pores got a little smaler and once that pimple went away.. my skin was glowing. I felt like I got a face lift the day I had it done LOL
