Need advice on my favorite Recep Halls

Hey Everyone!,
Okay so I need some advice from others on my favorite reception halls so far. I narrowed it down to five and, this was not intentional, all of them have club in the name haha. Okay here they are:

Brentwood Country Club
Rock Hill Country Club
Meadow Club
Bellport Country Club
Mill Pond Country Club

Does anyone have any feedback or advice about any of these places? I want a nice wedding, but nothing super expensive or over the top. Thanks ladies!

The only hall i visited on your list was Brentwood Country Club and it was one of my tops-it lost because fh did not want to travel to suffolk county and didnt want his family/friends to have to either.

My cousin had her wedding at BCC about 15 years ago, i remember everything being really nice and my mom had liked how it was. So we went to check it out and its all been redone since then, but we know alot of people that still work there-they are family friends. I loved the price-you have everything included-you really can't beat it-and the food is very good too

Yea BCC's price is the biggest factor on why it is in my top list. I don't know if i would be able to beat it but I am pretty sure that i may be able to come really close. I want a november wedding so that is helping with the price as well.

My friend at work recommended the Bellport Country Club...said it was really pretty and food was great. I never went to check it out b/c I fell in love with my FH at first site. My hairdresser got married at Meadow Club recently...if I see her next week...I will ask her about it.

I went to Bellport CC to check it out for my own wedding after being there for a friends wedding. The food is excellent. However, the cocktail room is very small. They open it up so you have the outside too but if it rains, you are kind of stuck in this small room. That was my thing with that one. Also they wanted $100pp ++ for a sat in Nov, I thought that was a bit high for them.

Meadow Club is nice. I recently saw in newsday they start at $60pp which is great. The food is ok. I just wasn't a fan of the location.

I actually went to the Meadows club this sunday, and itwas okay. I was not a fan of where it was. the food was pretty good. the dance floor is alittle small. but that was just my opinion of the place. i hope it helps.

you didn't like the location? is that because its off of a busy road? or cos' its so close to the 'eh' part of port jeff station? just wondering

its a few things; its on a busy road, the surronding area is not great, ugly shopping center across the street.

The way I was judging RH's when I was looking was I looked what was around. Think: What will my guests see as they drive up?? First impressions are everything. - JMO

I agree about Bellport CC. Are you getting married at your RH or in a church? That can be a big factor as well how they move people from one room to the next. That is what deterred FH and I from there.

I am not totally sure if I am going to have a ceremony at the RH or at a church. Is Bellport CC really that small? I was considering a ceremony at the hall.

Re: Need advice on my favorite Recep Halls

I'm not sure how many people you have...the layout was ok. If I recall correctly the ceremony is in the main room, which FH and I didn't care for. They then closed off the room and the cocktail hour was outside of that. It probably isn't as small as we remember. If you are considering getting married at your RH, definitely find out where the ceremony is. That could play a big factor. Some people don't want to get married in the same room that the party happens. And some places move people around like cattle. HTH!

Re: Need advice on my favorite Recep Halls

Hmm...well I am visiting the meadow club on friday and the mill pond country club on sunday. I have not been able to make an appointment with Bellport Country Club yet. How many res halls is everyone looking at, I feel like I am starting to look at too many.

Check out when they are having showcases also. You are going to find that some decision will require looking at only a few vendors while others will require looking at much more. When we looked for RH's I created a list....FH and I went through them all and crossed ones off based on pricing and or previous experiences. We also could tell from some of the pics online that it wouldn't be a place we were interested in. We called around and based on some of the minimums ruled out a few more. Then we started to go to see some places we had heard positive things about and were interested in. We actually found our RH because it was in the vicinity of some other places we looked at. I had time to kill between two appointments and called some places in the area and set up an appt. I fell in love.

I think in total we looked at 7 but I may be forgetting a few. Again, don't worry about looking at too many. Right now I've tried on about 70 wedding dresses and still no luck.

Re: Need advice on my favorite Recep Halls

Well its good to hear that I am not being crazy by making lists and wanting to visit like 10 places haha Good to know! Yea I know the meadow club has a bridal showcase in october but the catering manager i spoke with told me to meet with him first so i can see everything for myself and speak with him privately and then go to the showcase as well. We'll see how it goes

You are totally not crazy. Definitely search on here for those places and read the reviews or you can post on BHB to get more opinions on those places from Brides who have been to wedding etc there.
