Not sure if this is the place to post but Im looking for some advice. My fiance and I have fallen in love with one venue, unfortunately they have quoted us about $20 a head more than any other venue we've seen that are offering comparable services. When I looked online for average prices of this place, the quote they gave us is also significantly higher than what most people had said they were quoted at and they were looking during peak wedding season while we are not. We visited their sister venue (same caterers) and even they quoted us about $15 a head less. Has anyone had experience/can give advice on how to negotiate the price per head at a venue. Do I bring documentation of the other quotes? Any help would be appreciated :)
You can absolutely tell them what another venue is charging you and what you are getting for the price and ask them what they can do for you.
Double check on the other prices you saw for this venue and make sure that they are recent. Prices go up each year and some people could have gotten a special deal or bargained their way down to a certain price. Also, just because two venues are related doesn't necessarily mean they would be the same price.
Good luck!

Need Advice on Negotiating with Wedding Venue
I would really just put your negotiating shoes on if you really love the place.
Tell them you really love the place but need to be at $XX per person to make it possible and might be willing to walk away if they cannot work with you.
I do agree that just because they are the same caterers, doesn't mean that it will be the same price per person. It really is based on the venue itself and location.
You could always ask them to throw in some extras for you to make the increase worth it.

tell them flat out what your looking to spend per head...maybe even low ball it a bit because then when you meet in the middle, you'll be where you want to be...
or
tell them honestly that you know some people that were quoted less of a price and you wanted to know if they would match it...
i find being straightforward and honest is the best way to go...either they work with you or they flat out tell you no...

Don't hesitate to tell them that you have looked at other venues and its less money per person. Most vendors are willing to accommodate you if they want your business. They can either change up the menu or such to make up the difference. I was in a similar situation and i asked them if they would match the other venue i was torn between and to my surprise they did! The worse they can say is no...i was 100% sure they were not going to match and they did! you just never know. good luck!

This...especially if you are in an off season. They would rather you pay the price you are comfortable with than not get paid at all.

Do you mind me asking which venue it is? We could better let you know if their prices are unreasonable since many of us have tons of quotes form different places.
If what you are getting is completely comparable I would call them out and say, this is what we are getting at place A, and they are charging us 123. Although we really like your venue we really like place A too and have to go with what is within our budget. Is there anyway you can come closer to place A's price? - If they so no, then say ok thank you and walk away!! Then keep your fingers crossed that they call you back with a different answer! My hall took 3 minutes to agree to my stipulations because my FH step dad is an amazing negotiator!

it was Fox Hollow she was talking about. I had emailed her about how Fox Hollow doesn't consider Dec. an off month because they do a lot of holiday parties but it now seems like she has deleted her account

Need Advice on Negotiating with Wedding Venue
Yea when we were thinking of doing Dec instead of January many places prices were still alot higher bc of holiday parties. I did get a high quote from FH also though for November and March which surprised me when compared to others quotes and when talking to them about different dates to work with pricing they didn't seem interested it was weird. It is a beautiful place but our particular experience upset me alot and we moved on.
