Need advice on what to do about BM--sorry a bit long

I previously posted about my MIA bridesmaid. She is alittle depressed about her commitment-phobic BF and had made some comments.

Well, my shower was this past saturday, which was GREAT, I felt a bit overwhelmed, but it was a super time. She wasn't there. A friend told me she was at another wedding, which is fine, I'd rather she go to a wedding over my shower, but she hasn't called or anything since the shower.

My mom said she didn't offer to help or anything, there was no gift and my mom paid for the entire shower. My mom is a little upset and worried that she might not show up on the wedding day at this rate. I emailed her saying something like--we missed you saturday, I know you are super busy being a doctor but give me a call when you get a chance so we can catch up. Still haven't heard from her.

The lack of communication is getting me worried, what should be my next step or move if i don't hear from her soon? I don't want to jump to comclusions but when I talk to my mom or my friend (2 engaged co-workers today) about this, well, lets just say they are freaking out for me and making me a bit worried.

Oh, and just for some details--we are OLD friends but do not talk regularly or hang out regularly since she is a doctor in the city and it is difficult to meet up. (Our free time usually doesn't match)

if she is an old friend though she is special part of your yesterdays and a part of who you are today. many bridesmaids today do not help too much while others do. did she get the dress and altered yet? she paid for her own dress right? if she comes to the wedding - it will be nice to have her there. if not then write her off. no one will notice if she is not there - you might want to think about a backup plan for people paired up walking in the ceremony and intros at the reception but other than that its no big deal. its not worth the negative energy and stress it may cause to say 'your out' unless u truly believe that u will feel better that way- will it be a relief or do u just want everyone else to stop bugging you about her? u can go about it as - 'are u sure you have the time to be in the wedding, i understand u missed the shower but i definitely will need u at the rehearsal dinner and this time on the wedding day' u can even say it hurt ur feelings that u have not called in a while. .

well...I think you went about the email in a very respectful manner. Do you think she is dropping subtle hints that she really doesn't want to be in the BP. That's what I would get from it and in that case, I'd drop her an email saying:

I know you are crazy busy with work, we live so far from each other and unfortunately our schedules conflict. I do not want my wedding to be a burden on you because I understand your life is so hectic. so please be honest and let me know if this is too much for you. Of course I would love for you to be a part of this but I would fully understand if it isn't feasable at this point in time. Please know that I am not angry AT ALL (if that's the case) but I don;t want to ad more stress in your life.

or something?
