need advice on where to have an E- party

So original my FH and I were planning on throwing an engagement party for ourselves in our backyard but that idea is scraped. Now we can't decide if we should have it at a restaurant that does catering or in an actual catering hall. The engagement party will probably total 50-60 people.

Any there places in the Long Island area that you girls recommend? And is a restaurant with a party room better than a straight up catering hall?

ahhh so confused and so don't want to spend another month traveling around looking at places... just did that to find our RH.

suggestions much appreciated!

what part of LI do you want it?

irish coffee pub in east islip has really pretty private rooms of all sizes! I believe they are affordable too...they have private rooms with a dance floor if that is what you are looking for as well

shandon court in east islip also

fox hollow has smaller rooms

butera's in smithtown

portico grill in hauppauge

the victorian room at milk and sugar in bayshore

This is a restaurant - they'll close down the entire place for 50-60 ppl. The food is delish, and the price is great!

hey I love Milk & Sugar. I would have it in Nassau Long Island I think Suffolk may be too far for some of my guests traveling from New Jersey. All those places sound good though.. ugh I hate that I have to start searching for a venue again..
