Hi- I need a little advice...A little background first- I've been married almost a year and a half now. We have a great relationship and get along well. The problem is probably going to sound silly - He is totally obsessed with his job!! All he does is spend his time on the computer (he is a computer guy). He complains almost everyday how miserable he is and how he needs another job, although I am not sure if any job will make him happy. It's hard for me to hear this all the time, and he takes it out on me as well. I totally understand that he does not have to give me all of his time or attention, I am very understanding b/c I am a teacher and bring work home with me so of course I have things to do some nights too. But it is upsetting to feel like a 2nd priority all the time. He never has any time for me. :( I am not sure what else to do. I have spoken with him so many times about it. :( Does anyone have any advice for me? TIA

Wow I can relate somehow with you in the sense that sometimes he spends too much time playing this online game. At the same time I can understand how he spends time there because it's something for him to relax and relieve the stress from his job. If this is really bothering you, let him know how you really feel but be strong and get mad if you have to just so that he can listen to you. I might get flamed for this from the guys, but sometimes you have to treat them like little boys to get your point through.

I can understand where you're coming from .. only I'm like your husband .. I'll admit .. I am a total work-a-holic .. I have two jobs .. mainly out of neccessity .. but no matter what .. I always find something to do .. and always stay later than I should (or even want to) .. I just don't know how it happens .. and many times I feel very stressed out about how much work I'm doing.
Do I know my husband is unhappy with how much time I'm spending on work .. YES!
It's a very difficult situation .. but we try to at least do little things whenever we can .. and whenever we feel up for it .. even if it's just something silly like grabbing lunch from a favorite spot and bringing it home on an off day.
Fortunately, my husband has his own personal interests that are very time consuming to him as well .. otherwise he may not be as understanding as he is .. which does not mean we don't argue over my work habits .. because we do.
UGH .. I feel it's so difficult to explain .. and actually would love to get out of this wicked loop.
