Need advice - please help.

Hey ladies....

I need some honest advice here. I have never really mentioned it before - but I own my own business..I make jewelry. (www.jenerations.com)

I have an opportunity to advertise in Lucky magazine - in the back pages (the 'boutique') for the xmas issue...

it is a lot of money - and a small ad - but they have 4.3 million readers....so I am going back and forth on what to do.

my question for you is do any of you read those little ads in the back???? Do you think it is worthwhile to take an ad out there??

Good LUck with it, in what ever you decide. Just make sure your budget allows for it.

I have to say, I never read them. And JMO, they don't really seem to be legit (lots of palm readers and lose weight quick things)

Do the numbers make sense....what I mean is, is their circulation in line with the advertising rate they are asking??? Did you compare their rate with another magaizine with the same circulation.

BTW.. yes I do read them.

It's something I used to do as a hobby - now I am on the verge of quitting my job and making jewelry full time - so I am really trying to get my name out there.

Lucky is the place to do that - just not sure this ad is the right way.

I have to tell you that you have some beautiful designs!

I'm iffy on the advertising issue though.

How much more would it be to do a decent sized ad? 1/4 page, 1/2 page, full page.

I read them....make it eye catching...look at the ones already in them and see what catches your eye!!

I actually do a lot of bridal parties too - but if you want more info on that (or discounts on certain pcs) FM me...I dont want it to seem like I am here to sell my goods or push my business...you know...

I would DEFINETLY do it, I do read the little ads in the back - by like Jenny said - make it eye catching -

I subscribe to that magazine becasue I love to shop! Definitely make it eye catching. I look over them quickly and only stop and read if I see a picture of something I like.
