We blocked rooms at a hotel. FH called to find out how many were booked for the night of the wedding - there are FIVE rooms booked.
Would you still provide a shuttle for those guests at a cost of $400?
My gut is telling me yes but it just seems so ridiculously expensive for so few people...

I would .. I am too worried about my hotel guests having to drive. I know its costly for that few amount of people but definitely better safe than sorry IMO.

We have the same problem. And the shuttle for us is almost $800. So I think they can take a cab... but of course that depends if more people book rooms.

i wouldn't provide a $400 shuttle just for 5 rooms. doesn't seem worth it.
but, we have a lot of OOT guests and only 14 rooms were booked from our hotel block. turns out that a lot of other guests booked rooms on their own because they were able to get a better rate than what we blocked off! so that's just something to consider - you still might have more guests staying at the hotel that just didn't use your hotel block.

my guests are going to drive themselves from the hotel to the RH ... i don't have extra money for them.

whew..see, I thought it was just me that thought this way. I've had to drive to every party. No one's ever sent a service for me.
IMO, they're adults and can handle the driving.

So far we only have about 8 rooms booked and four of them are family and one is us. I'm keeping the shuttle though, because I know most of my BP is planning to stay and they haven't booked rooms yet.

I wouldnt, just because you cant guarantee that anyone will use the shuttle.

Did you tell them there would be a shuttle? If not, then I would forget it. But if they're expecting a shuttle I would call a local taxi service and see if they can send 2 minivan taxis for pick-up and drop-off.

Hmmm, i would try to find out if you know of any more guaranteed people that plan on staying at the hotel. If not, then I would look into a taxi service for those staying!

thanks for your opinions!!!! i am so confused - i really, really don't know what to do.
no we didn't tell them there would be a shuttle
i know one of those rooms is someone that's in the BP from OOT so we know that person wouldn't even be using the shuttle, at least not on the way there.
we also know another room is FH's dad - OOT also - and I think they're doing a rental car.
I believe the other three rooms are my college roommates. I think im gonna email them and find that out.
my parents and one of my sisters are staying at the garden city hotel which is where me and FH are staying. other sister is going home (garden city). FH's parents are going home.
sorry, im just thinking this out as i type lol

ugh we're doing it still....
we only have so many guests staying at the hotel, i wanna say 6 or 7 rooms blocked,
but i know FH and i are going back on it, some other BP members are planning on it andhavent booked...
my mom thinks its an expense that is worth it, so whatevs!
