need advice re: receiving line- fh's parents want to do it and mine don't***update*** good news!!

u''ve all probably seen my posts from yesterday about the RL. well heres the story behind it-
my mother has some anxiety issues and i'm lucky just to have her at the wedding. shes even finally agreed to be walked down the aisle by her brother and be annouced into the reception. so i think asking her to do a RL will just send over the edge and my dad agrees so he doesn't want to do it either but my dad said if fh's parent's do it he will but theres no guarantees about my mother. on the other hand theres FH's parents who i really like too. they are the complete opposite of my parents. they love being the center of attention and his mom treats me like daughter. for ex she planned my whole shower w/my bp and my mom didn't come due to her issues. i have yet to speak to fh's parent or my mother about this. fh doesn't think its right that b/c my parents don't want to do something his parents can't. he said its not a secret everyone knows about ur mom. i mean she wasn't at my shower so people have to know. also fh's parent's know about her issues also. fh said if i don't want his mother & father in the RL i need to tell them.
also on top of my mom's issues we're in a crunch for time- mass-4-5 and ch at 6:30. they're only 20 mins apart but i think were cutting it close for our photog time and we plan on getting some alone time at RH after pics to eat some CH food in the bridal suite and 90% of the guests are from fh's side.
i would either like to skip the rl all together or just make it fh and i but i'm afrad what fmil will say. so my question is what do i do? and how should i approach this w/fmil?
tia!!!

****UPDATE****

GOOD NEWS
i just spoke with the photog and he said pics will probably take approx 2 hours, so that means no time for receiving line what so ever!! YAY!!

Re: need advice re: receiving line- fh's parents want to do it and mine don't

we had a similar situation with our receiving line, a small issue about who would be in it, my dad is remarried...I just didn't want any drama and the main reason against it was time also, church at 2:30-3:15 - CH starting at 4:00, 200 guests, personally I knew I would see everyone at the reception, I HATE waiting in receiving lines, and I knew my guests would want to get to the party....just my opinion, I know they are tradition and a very nice thing to do, but I did not miss it at all, and do not regret skipping it, as long as your FH parents are in the program, escorted down the aisle and introduced to people throughout the reception, they will meet all the people that want to meet them.....if it will make your mom that uncomfortable I really don't think it is worth it, I have been to weddings with them, and without them and I have never heard guests say 'I am so glad they had that lovely receiving line, or 'I can't beleive they didnt' have a receiving line'......just my opinion hth

Hey... so that's a tough sit, but I think you need to look at the timing! Even if your mom wanted to do a RL, then you would have to have a ceremony instead of a Mass to get pics done and get to RH in time for coktail hour... you might wanna explain that to them, because I really think you'd miss cocktail hour (which we want to go to, but you might not.. I dunno) Good luck and try not to let it stress you!
