need advice regarding hair/makeup

ok so i had a trial with 2 people for hair & makeup.. i wasnt really thrilled with my trials. to be honest with you, i hated the makeup. after an hour i had racoon eyes and it looked like i was 43 instead of 23. i was looking into another hair and makeup artist, and was planning on having a trial but if i love them, i dont even know what to say to the first people since i booked them. like seriously, what would be my excuse? i would just feel awful. i wish i didnt have a conscience. i guess im asking, would you bother having the trial with the 2nd group or just try another trial with the people you already booked? i'm tight on money so i dont think i can swing both trials. :-/ if you say to choose the 2nd group, what would you say to the first group of girls? sorry this is long

You need to look good and feel good on your big day so you have to do whatever it takes to make that happen. Im sure you won't be the irst bride that has changed their mind with vendors...its happened before so they wont hate you for it! GOod luck

Don't worry about hurting their feelings...which you won't. But would you rather cater to them and look like a raccoon or be happy with what you look like....it is your day and you have to go with what fits you. Tell them you are trying to save money so you are doing it on your own. Maybe they won't even ask you why. Just call them and say you have to cancel the appointment or have your MOH do it....put them to work. That way if they ask why you are canceling she can say she is not really sure.

Just tell them you went with someone else and thank them for their time. If you decide to do a 2nd trial... I recommend Khouloud's Beauty. Kacey (m/u) and Rosemarie (hair) did a wonderful job for me, I booked on the spot. (Pics in album) Trial was $50 for each.

can you just tell the first people that you had the trial with that after you left you noticed that your eyes looked a little too heavy, and maybe they can do another trial for you!

Whoa, calm down. It'll work out. Definitely do the other trials. Do as many as you need till you find the vendor you like.

Keep the first person you've booked on the hook (assuming you don't have to make installment payments) until you find someone else.

As far as telling the first folks you are canceling on them, just tell 'em straight up that, sorry and thanks for your time, but you're going elsewhere. I assure you they won't be losing sleep over it.

try someone else. tell the other people you want to go with someone else. most vendors deal with 1000s of people a year, they probably won't even remember in a week.

If you already booked these people you can try to give them another chance. Explain how you really feel and they will probably offer to do another trial free. I called up my guy after I booked him and told him honestly that I didn't like my hairstyle especially after looking at pictures and my mom's opinion, etc. He was right on it and said he would do another trial for free. The second one he did I really liked a lot and I didn't want to book another vendor anymore. HTH

Re: need advice regarding hair/makeup

DEFINETLY go for other trials...your wedding day is NOT a time to settle for the way you look - they will completely understand if u explain to them nicely that you've gone with someone else...it happens ALL the time! so don't worry Also, i HIGHLY reccomend Mia from
B r i d a l l o u n g e.com (just take out the spaces)...you'll find only raves on her work. She spent HOURS(literally) with me at my trial untill we got the look i absolutely loved. And i SWEAR to you both my hair and makeup did not budge! My MIL still talks about how my makeup stayed on all night!(with the exception of re-applying my lipgloss of course)...my hair was still in the next morning. ANYWAYS, i absolutely loved her....her trial costs a little bit but it is totally worth it - she re-did my hair & makeup so many times...and made me look EXACTLY how i was going to look on my wedding day - there was no 'Oh dont worry this will be a little better & hold more on the day of'....it was EXACT. GIVE HER A CALL!!! she's great

Re: need advice regarding hair/makeup

my aunt used her, i'd rather use oksana and jenn. esp. since i need hair and makeup and so do my 7 other girls. thats too much for 1 person to do. thanks for the suggestion though!! i am just gonna go with a trial with oksana and jenn and go from there.
