Calling all brides or anyone who has been at Floral Terrace.
We were booked with Jericho Terrace's Oak room and felt like we settled with our reception room. The ceremony room (Skylight) and the cocktail room (terrace room) were amazing....but the OAK room felt closed in, no windows, and all the stairs leading downwards made me think of it as a dungeon. however, i thought i could make it work with all the new lights and decor. I've read TONS of excellent reviews on JT on this website and i know that the food would have been great and the service great too. but neither me or the fiancee was impressed & in love with the room where most of our wedding reception is.
out of curiosity we went to see floral terrace and OMG! we LOVE their ballroom, the ceilings are amazing, and sooo very different from anything we've seen. The package they were able to offer us was slightly higher in price than JT, but the added value of Floral terrace --one wedding at a time (which i didnt really care about) but now sounds great, HUGE 2 room bridal suite, (tiny tiny outdated bridal room at JT) HUGE 2 room GROOM suite, the use of all 4 floors in the building, 2 bridal attendants, 2 matre d's, equal type menu and the fact that WE ARE BOTH SUPER EXCITED to have our wedding in that room.....PRICELESS!!!
however......i'm having a hard time finding reviews on floral terrace and i'm hesitating on booking with another hall then have to cancel the contract and lose a deposit....AGAIN! (Jericho Terrace refused to refund my initial $500 deposit after 4 days had passed) grrr.
soorrry about this huge post....i'm hoping some of you ladies can offer some advice or reviews on floral terrace. thank you all!!

Re: NEED ADVICE....FLORAL TERRACE
I went to a wedding with FH about 2 years ago. The cocktail hours is HUGE!!!! The room itself is HUGE but there wasn't a lot of seating. OR maybe because the bride invited too many people who knows? Anyway, the reception itself was so nicely done, the food was great and I enjoyed it there. I loved the dancefloor which is away from the tables. I would suggest booking it there if you are love it!!! Good luck!

Re: NEED ADVICE....FLORAL TERRACE
out of the last 8 or so weddings I've been to on LI, the one I attended at Floral terrace was hands down the BEST.
The food was AMAZING (loooved the chilean sea bass and the lamb chops) and they came around for seconds?? yum!
DOn't know if you were considering a viennese hour but they do a greaaaaat job with this and even have popcorn and cotton candy since it used to be a movie theatre.
The ballroom is gorgeous and was a very nice room to be in and the dance floor was very big. They even had coffee and doughnuts for us as we left!
The reasons I didn't choose it for my wedding is I wanted a location on the water with views. Otherwise this would have been top of my list!!
You won't be disappointed!!

Re: NEED ADVICE....FLORAL TERRACE
I had my wedding at Jericho Terrace but in the Skylight Room. I wasn't all that crazy about the Oak Room either, so I hear ya, though I thought the bridal suite was gorgeous. But anyway, I digress.
My cousin got married at Floral Terrace in 2009 and it was a very beautiful wedding. The food was excellent, especially the Viennese hour (even though I didn't like that you had to leave the room to visit it). Either way you go, your wedding will be beautiful.
Also, just a side note- for halls in Nassau it's standard practice that deposits are not refundable. In Suffolk though, you can usually get your deposit back up until 3 months before the date. HTH!

Re: NEED ADVICE....FLORAL TERRACE
i think the skylight room has a different bridal suite. the oak room's BSuite is small, and there is no way i could fit my 15pp bridal party in there.
<<>>>> i wish i would have known that!! live and learn i guess.

I've been to floral terrace more times than I could count, grew up in that town and they seemed to use it for a lot of things. the Viennese hour is amazing, and the rooms are beautiful.
plus I think they throw up a stay at a hotel in greece I've heard from some ladies? check that out too!!!

Re: NEED ADVICE....FLORAL TERRACE
Floral Terrace is a sister company of Sand Castle... we've been there for a showcase (our SC BM sent us an invite) and loved it... when we went, they had a dessert-tasting and coffee/tea and even with this minimal offering - it all tasted gooooddddd!
i have nothing but good things to say to the whole SC/FT corporation so if you love it, i'd say GO FOR IT!

Re: NEED ADVICE....FLORAL TERRACE
My brother got married at Floral Terrace and it was really beautiful. It was nice to have the whole place to yourself and the whole old movie theatre aspect was really unique.
The cocktail hour was amazing, tons and tons of food. During dinner they offered guests seconds and boxed up dinners which weren't finished without any complaint. Everyone raved about the food for such a long while afterwards. From what my brother says they were really accomodating to anything they wanted. They had a really good experience.
