Need advice/help

My fi is going through a really hard time. He and his family just told his grandmother that she has cancer. He had to feed her tonight that's how much pain she's in. How do I help him or what do I say. I'm trying to be real strong for him. I don't want to break down. He's going to see her on Sat. I want to give him all the time with her. I don't want to intrude. Also, since I never went to see a cancer patient I don't know how I will react. At first he thought he was being selfish when he said that now she won't be able to come to the wedding. I told him that's not being selfish. I know he would love it if she could there.

Any help will be appreciated.

Of course he's not being selfish, he's realizing whats going to be. Its hard especially when you love someone to ease there pain when this is happening. Just be there for him and listen to him. Loving him and caring for him now is the best thing you can do for him. Make his favorite foods, even if he doesn't eat much... That kind of thing.
And ask him if he wants you there on Sat he might need you even if you don't go in.

It's amazing how stong you can be when you really need to. My grandmother died of cancer and it was the hardest thing for me to go through, but I never showed it until the day of her funeral.

I took her to radiation therapy everyday and it amazed me how much she truly just wanted to live. As I used to walk her into the house she used always stop and smell the roses in the backyard.

There's no way you can understand how Fl feels. Just be there for him to hold him when he needs you. Don't be afraid to see her, she will appreciate that you were there for her.

Good luck with everything, and once again I am sooo sooo sooo sorry I know exactly how you feel :O/

like girls said, just be there for him, but you have to know when to let him be, sometimes he will need to be by himself... dont pressure him, when he is ready he will talk...
seeing a loved one in pain is so hard, I still remember by grandfather slowly dying of cancer... it is a horrible disease
