FH and I were debating whether or not to put 'Adult Reception Only' on our invites when the time comes to order them.
Do you ladies think it would be rude or tacky? I don't want to insult those with children. I feel the only children allow to attend the wedding is the RBs' and FGs'. There is a good chance some of my FG and RB are leaving after the BP is announced. Children don't eat free and FH and I are trying to cut cost on things for the wedding. We are pretty much paying for the wedding.
I don't know

Re: Need advise
I dont think it's rude at all. It clarifies in plain English that children are not invited. JMO I think it's tactful.

FMIL agreed with me and said the same thing, that it wasn't rude or felt it was tacky. I was concerned what others would think.

I don't think it's rude. For the most part, I don't think people would mind either. I know I can speak for my family......we have cousins that want a night out to themselves without the kids.

I'm sitting here thinking maybe I should have put that too. I didn't want to. Hopefully I won't have to deal with any issues.

Re: Need advise
I did it! Some may find it rude, but it needs to be clarified, especially for some.

Re: Need advise
We just received our invites from ordering them Wednesday and we did 'aduly only' at the top of the reception card. My family is aware that we don't want children at the reception, but it's a tactful thing to add if you don't want them there. It saves you the energy of having to tell you friends and family repeatedly that no children are allowed.

Re: Need advise
Just wondering if 'only' is necessary... that may be what's bothering you. I think if you just put 'Adult Reception', that would get the message across just fine. I do not want children at our wedding (except for the two in our bridal party), and we'll put that on our invitations.
