Need all past brides help.

FMIL found a beautiful dress to wear to the wedding, it is strapless. She didn't know if that was appropriate at her age. I said I see plenty of pictures of mothers wearing strapless dress. Can anyone post pictures of your mothers or FMIL in strapless dresses or dresses with sleeves. I want to show her what everyone wears. Thanks!

I dont have a picture (neither of mine wore strapless) but i think its perfectly appropriate if you think she looks good in the dress!
You could suggest a nice shawl or wrap for her to have on hand if she's worried about being covered at any point, that way she's got the option of either.

I will try to get a pic of my mother at my brother's wedding up on the comp, but she looked amazing in her strapless dress. As a matter a fact, I told my mom that she had to wear strapless to the wedding because she has such a great figure that I wanted her to look sexy. My dad thought she was so beautiful, and needless to say she knew she looked good and she was so happy the whole night!

I've seen loads of women wearing strapless gowns to their daughter's weddings. In fact, when I went shopping with MIL for her dress, we had a hard time finding dresses that *weren't* strapless! (MIL didn't want a strapless dress)

Tell her to go for it!

Hi Alli..
My mom will probably wear strapless. I don't think it's inappropriate at all.

When two of my friends got married last year (to each other) their moms both wore strapless. Unfortunately I don't have pictures, but they looked gorgeous!!!

Both my mom and FMIL is wearing strapless. My mom is 54 and FMIL is 60 and they both look great in the dresses. I think it is appropriate. I will try to find pictures to post. the dress on the left (obviously lol)

My MIL wore a strapless dress and she looked gorgeous in it! It was like the dress was made for her so I couldn't imagine her wearing any other. She did have a jacket that went with it and wore it for most of the time.

Neither my mom nor my MIL wore strapless, but my mom would have if the strapless gown she fell in love with cost less than $3k.

Here's a MOB thread of dresses for you to see what LIW moms are wearing.
