need an opinion

FH wants to see if the catering hall can make lobster tails on our wedding night as a special meal for him. The man did say that if theres some other meal that we're not serving that either of us wants, they can accomodate it (I don't know about lobster tails though) Anyway, my dad thinks its rude to the guests, and I don't see anything wrong with it. I've never been to a wedding where I even knew what the bride or groom ordered as their meal. What do you all think?

i dont think its rude...you guys are paying for it...plus i don't think anyone would ever know. I have never looked at the bride and grooms plates to see what they ate....i say go for it!

That's what I'm thinking too, but my dad someone is gonna see that he has lobster tails and get pissed. Even if the man who works there told us we could have something on the menu that we're not choosing to serve at the wedding. Maybe I just say it was a surprise by the chef or something...

Why would someone get pissed? It's not like theyre paying for the wedding. Either way, it's quite common for the bride and groom to get upgraded meals/multiple meals (fish and beef).

It's not rude. Besides, I'm sure no one will notice anyway what the groom is eating.

Its your wedding, I dont think it would be rude to get something special for yourselves. If someone else gets upset, well, they can go buy themselves a lobster dinner.

Honestly, i dont think people will really notice, and those that do may see it as a special treat for the guests of honor.
